Teleflex has announced the closure of its Maple Grove, Minnesota, manufacturing facility, with the expected loss of 101 jobs. The closure, set to occur by March 2026, will see most operations cease by June 30, with layoffs planned for July 1. The company has not disclosed specific reasons for the facility's closure. The announcement follows Teleflex’s broader restructuring plans, including a split into two public companies, one focused on urology, acute care, and OEM businesses and the other on vascular access, interventional, and surgical businesses. Teleflex’s restructuring also includes the acquisition of Biotronik’s vascular intervention division.
The company aims to streamline its manufacturing operations as part of this transition, reducing the number of facilities from 19 to seven. The Maple Grove site, which primarily produced diagnostic and interventional catheters, was part of the remaining company, which generated $2.1 billion in revenue in 2024 following the Biotronik acquisition. The move is expected to help the company optimize its production capacity and adapt to the changes brought by its split.
