Siemens Healthineers is strengthening its U.S. logistics network by opening two new "mega depots" in California and New Jersey, increasing its available parts inventory by 30%. These new locations will supplement its existing depot in Memphis, Tennessee, and enhance the company’s ability to manage supply-chain disruptions and demand fluctuations. By partnering with contract logistics provider GXO, Siemens aims to offer later order cutoff times, same-day delivery within a 300-mile radius, and more next-flight-out shipping options, ensuring faster and more reliable service for healthcare providers.
The expansion comes as Siemens responds to ongoing logistics challenges driven by global supply-chain pressures, severe weather events, and geopolitical uncertainties. The new depots will help mitigate these risks while also improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact through optimized delivery routes. Operations at the New Jersey facility are already underway, while the California site is set to open later this year, further strengthening Siemens’ ability to serve customers nationwide.
